How to Check Your PMT Score by CNIC If you are waiting for a government payment or want to know if you are “poor enough” to qualify for help, you need to check your PMT Score. This score is a number between 0 and 100 that tells the government about your financial status. A lower score means you have a higher chance of getting monthly cash.
What PMT Score Do You Need?
Before you check, here is a quick guide to what the numbers mean for your eligibility:

Method 1: Check Online via BISP 8171 Portal
This is the most popular and fastest way. You only need your phone or a computer with internet.

Visit the official website: 8171.bisp.gov.pk.

Type your 13-digit CNIC number (without dashes).

Enter the Captcha Code (the numbers you see in the image).

Click “Submit” and your PMT score will appear on the screen.
Method 2: Check via 8171 SMS Service
If you do not have internet, you can use a simple SMS.

Open the Messages app on your phone.

Type your CNIC number (e.g., 3520212345678).

Send this to 8171.

You will get a reply with your eligibility status and your PMT score.
Tip: Always use the SIM card that is registered in your own name to get a fast reply.
Method 3: Visit BISP Tehsil Office
If the online portal or SMS is not working for you, you can go in person.

Go to your nearest BISP Tehsil Office.

Bring your Original CNIC.

Ask the officer to check your NSER (National Socio-Economic Registry) data.

What to Do if Your PMT Score is Too High?
