The Benazir Income Support Programme (Benazir Taleemi Wazaif Payment Update 2026) has announced a major update for the Taleemi Wazaif (Education Stipends) in February 2026. This program provides extra money to families already receiving the Benazir Kafaalat (8171) cash, specifically to help with school expenses like books, uniforms, and bags.
In 2026, the government has increased the stipend amounts and added new “Co-responsibilities” (rules) that every student must follow to keep receiving the money.
New Stipend Amounts for 2026 (Quarterly)
The government continues to give more money to girls to encourage female education. Here are the updated rates for each 3-month period:
| Education Level | Boys Stipend (PKR) | Girls Stipend (PKR) |
| Primary (Class 1-5) | Rs. 2,500 | Rs. 3,000 |
| Secondary (Class 6-10) | Rs. 3,500 | Rs. 4,000 |
| Higher Secondary (11-12) | Rs. 4,500 | Rs. 5,000 |
Special Bonus: A one-time “Graduation Bonus” of Rs. 3,000 is awarded to girls who successfully complete their primary education (Class 5).
New Conditions for Students in 2026
To ensure that the money is used correctly, BISP has made two conditions mandatory. If these are not met, the payment will be automatically blocked.
-
70% Attendance Rule: The most important condition is that the student must maintain at least 70% attendance in school every quarter. Schools now upload this data digitally to BISP.
-
Verified B-Form: The child must have a valid NADRA B-Form. If your child’s B-Form is not updated or verified, the payment will not be released.
-
Active Kafaalat Status: The mother must be an active beneficiary of the Benazir Kafaalat (Rs. 13,500) program. If the mother’s account is blocked, the children’s education stipends will also stop.
How to Check Your Child’s Payment Status
You can check if your child’s stipend has been released using these easy steps:
-
Via SMS: Send the mother’s CNIC number to 8171. You will receive a reply showing the Kafaalat amount and the Taleemi Wazaif amount separately.
-
Online Portal: Visit 8171.bisp.gov.pk, enter the CNIC and the captcha code to see the full result.
-
BISP App: Use the official BISP smartphone app to track the history of your children’s payments.
Why Is My Payment Delayed or Zero?
If you are eligible but see a “Zero Balance” for Taleemi Wazaif, it could be due to:
-
Low Attendance: If the school reported less than 70% attendance, the payment for that quarter is cancelled.
-
School Verification Pending: Sometimes, the school fails to upload the enrollment slip or attendance on time.
-
Expired CNIC: If the mother’s ID card is expired, all family payments are put on hold.
How to Register Your Children in 2026
If your child is not yet registered for this scholarship, follow this simple method:
-
Get the Form: Visit your nearest BISP Tehsil Office and ask for the Enrollment Slip.
-
School Stamp: Take the slip to your child’s school. The Headmaster must fill in the admission date and class and put an official stamp on it.
-
Submit to BISP: Bring the stamped slip and the child’s Original B-Form back to the BISP office for final entry.
Important Reminder for 2026
BISP teams are now conducting surveys inside schools to verify records. Parents are advised to keep their contact numbers active and ensure their children do not miss school without a valid medical reason.
