Punjab Opens Laptop Applications for Private University Students 2026 – Official Guide

In a historic move, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has officially expanded the CM Punjab Laptop Scheme 2026 (Phase II) to include students from the private sector. For the first time, merit-holding students from 48 approved private universities can apply alongside their peers in public sector institutions. This expansion aims to bridge the digital divide and provide equal opportunities for academic excellence to all talented students across the province.

The portal is now OPEN, and students are encouraged to submit their applications before the upcoming deadline to secure a high-performance 13th Generation laptop.

Scheme Overview and Key Updates

The 2026 Phase II update focuses on high-specification hardware to support demanding tasks like coding, research, and freelancing.

  • Total Laptops: Approximately 40,000 to 110,000 units in the current cycle.

  • Private Sector Quota: 10,000 laptops are specifically reserved for private university students.

  • Application Deadline: February 15, 2026.

  • Laptop Specs: Intel Core i7 (13th Generation) with SSD storage and high-speed RAM.
